Miss Iligan 2009 Coronation Night

The Miss Iligan Pageant never fails to bring surprises not just to the viewers but to the organizers themselves.  The first surprise was when Singer - Composer Ms. Geneva Cruz-Miller danced it out with Mayor Cruz and Congressman Varf Belmonte, which gave the crowd a fun filled break after the tensed competition was still on the computation table trying to determine who the winner will be for this years beauty pageant.

The second surprise was when the winners were declared - which always is a pleasurable one.  It never ceases to awe the audiences to watch the last two candidates whose excitement is undescribable, waiting for their numbers to be announced.  And seeing their reactions when their numbers are finally called, declaring them as winners.

The "Pagpakanaug" 2009

The St. Michael's Cathedral, packed with devotees

"Pagpakanaug" is the transferring of the St. Michael's Statue from inside the church to outside, in front of the church.   Though for the past years, Pagpakanaug was done on the 2oth but since this year the 20th falls on a Sunday, the Church decided to hold the Pagpakanaug on September 19, a Saturday, so that the scheduled masses on Sunday will not be disrupted.
