Last September 8, 2010, God blessed the Tabo-an sa Iligan opening with a downpour. But despite the rains, our honorable Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz, Vice Mayor Henry C. Dy, Councilors Freddie W. Siao and Marlene L. Young, Ambassador of Goodwill Mr. Harry Oh, the members of the Executive Management Board led by Brgy. Captain Erlito "Doodz" C. Dalangin and other guests pushed through with the opening. of Tabo-an sa Iligan at Pryce Business Park, Tubod, Iligan City. Ms. Agnes M. Clerigo-Maingat, Supervising Tourism Officer of the Iligan City Tourism Office acted as the Mistress of Ceremony.
The program was shortened because there was not a sign that the rain would stop As the pictures below would show you, umbrellas were provided for everyone who joined in the blessing of stalls. Everyone was then treated to a hearty snack at one of the food stalls. The food and menu was handled by Ms. Josephine D. Taojo which were cooked by her mother, Mama Mering.
The candidates of the Search for Ms. Iligan 2010, led by its Chairperson, Ms. Cathy B. Tan were also around to add glamor to the occasion. Councilors Michelle E. Sweet and Jose Zalsos later showed up when finally the rain let-up.
This year's Tabo-an is bigger than the last one in the number of stalls that were set-up by the sellers. As of the first week of September, there were still people who inquire about the availability of stalls for them to sell their products. This is a healthy sign that despite the odds, Iligan is growing.

leading the affair with the cutting of the ribbon.

having a hard time lighting up their candles because of the rain.
Rain a problem? Not in this case as it was considered a very special blessing
from the Almighty Father. We just can't determine though which is holy water
and which is rain.
Hand-crafted necklaces, rings, bracelets...anything that can be done by a tie-wire
was turned into something that can be used as accessories of trinket collectors.
For mothers who are in need of kitchen utensils/wares, this place is a budget hunters' paradise!

But in this case, its low priced items to the left, very cheap items to the right!
Its the budget hunters' Nirvana!
And if you get tired walking, looking for rare items sold at very low prices,
well, around the corner just beyond the carnival rides are food stalls,
to satisfy your food cravings.
